Storing Without The Drama

Storing Without The Drama

When you are in the middle of a move, the last thing you need is additional hassles, which is one of the reasons I started looking for great storage units in my area. I wanted to be able to unload the things that I didn't want into a unit, lock up the space, and walk away. After looking around for the right storage facility, I was able to find a great spot that I felt confident about. It has been really neat to see how much of a difference great storage has made in my life, and I know that it can help you too.

6 Ways to Make Your Next Office Move a Smooth One

If you need to move into a new office, planning is the key to a smooth move. With the right planning, moving to a new office can be an enjoyable upgrade to a new space, instead of a stressful situation.

Way #1: Hire a Corporate Moving Company

Moving a business takes a lot of work and planning. You are going to want to move and set-up everything quickly and efficiently. If you have any special equipment, you may need to hire special assistance to deal with that equipment. Extensive planning may be necessary, which is why you are going to want to hire a corporate moving company as soon as possible.

Way #2: Schedule Your Move With Your Building

If you are moving into a building with other tenants, you can't just show up whenever you want to move-in, and the same goes for moving out of your building if you share it with other tenants. You need to be aware of how your moving process will impact other tenants. With most commercial buildings, you will need to schedule your move outside of regular business hours. With these time constraints, you may need a few days to complete your move.

Way #3: Learn About Moving Rules

Next, you will want to make sure you are aware of the different moving rules of each building. For example, there may be rules about where you can park the moving truck, how long you can use the loading dock, or which elevators you can use to move items. You are going to want to convey this information to your moving company. Some moving companies will find out and coordinate this information for you.

Way #4: Inventory All Items

Have the person who oversees each department or section of your office create a detailed inventory. This will allow you to know exactly what needs to be moved in each area of your business. You can also use this list to figure out what you need to get rid of as well.

Way #5: Have a Plan for Plants

If you have any office plants you need to move, you need to plan for them. Most moving companies will not move plants, so you will want to figure out an alternative plan for any office plants you need to move.

Way #6: Hire A Manager to Oversee the Move

You are going to need someone from the office to be there on a moving day. You may want to hire one or two managers to oversee the moving process. They will be there to help coordinate the move and answer any questions that may arise during the move.

If you want to have a smooth move, hire corporate movers to handle all the details. Learn about the moving rules for the building you are moving out of and into. Have a few managers or employees on-site to assist with the move and plan for moving any live plants.
